Collision Avoidance System for safer , smarter mining
By adopting our Collision Avoidance System (CAS), mining companies gain
1. Zero-Harm Operations - Protect your workforce with real time alerts and automated safety responses.
2. Reduced downtime- Minimize costly interruptions caused by accidents and equipment damage.
3. Enhanced Compliance - Stay ahead of health, safety and environmental (HSE) regulations.
4. Boosted productivity - Keep operations running smoothly with fewer delays and breakdowns.
5. Improved fleet Management - Track and monitor vehicles and equipment with advanced analytics.
How Does It Work?
To comply with the Level 9 CAS requirements,Pearmoun focuses on scalable, flexible and redundant technology to ensure compliance at all levels of Collision Avoidance. Consisting of rugged devices that communicate peer-to-peer to provide situational awareness information in real-time to equipment operators and miners, the solution is based around two components:
The Vehicle:
Configurable zones are created around each vehicle. When another vehicle/pedestrian enters into the zones, audible and visual alarms and instructions are given via the display unit in the cab. In cases where a collision is imminent, the system will automatically stop the vehicle.
The system broadcasts a signal to its environment ensuring rapid reaction times and more importantly, reliable detection of numerous pedestrians and vehicles simultaneously.
The in-cab display informs equipment operators of their relative position to other vehicles within range and an icon on the screen shows an image of the closest object (pedestrian or vehicle).
The Pedestrian:
The system proactively warns miners (pedestrians) when they are in the outer zone of approaching and moving machinery.

A pedestrian will be warned via a flashing light (colour coded to depict which zone he is in) and an audible buzzer when entering into danger zones.
The flashing light and buzzer unit is fitted to the cap lamp worn by the pedestrian and continues to work even if the cap lamp is switched off.
All events and interactions for vehicles and pedestrians are recorded and logged in the system and can be displayed on the dashboard and stored for post incident analysis and control.
Why Does It Matter?
Vehicle-on-vehicle or vehicle-on-pedestrian collisions or near misses cost the industry millions in lost production, repairs and fines. Introducing a state-of-the-art Collision Avoidance System can significantly reduce the risk of such events occurring at your operation, making the work force safer and saving unplanned losses in productivity.
